Another way to achieve faster speeds is by using a fast-track smoothing compound. Specifically designed for projects requiring a fast turnaround, rapid curing smoothing compounds allow flooring contractors more scope to carry out complete projects in a single day, while reducing the need for artificial drying. Compared to traditional sand and cement products, fast-track solutions limit downtime and disruption and help facilitate the early laying of floorcoverings, meaning building work won’t suffer costly delays.
Bostik Screedmaster Speed 30 is a rapid setting and drying smoothing compound, having a walk on time of 30 minutes, making it suitable for contractors who require a fast track solution for their flooring project.
Formulated from the latest advances in cement technology, Screedmaster Speed 30 will smooth sound, uneven surfaces prior to the laying of decorative floor coverings in three hours, Bostik says, with a loose lay time of 45 minutes. When combined with other Bostik products, this can allow full flooring installations to be completed in a single day, depending on the size of the project.
Consisting of a 20kg powder bag and 4 litres of polymer liquid, the two-part product is suitable for use with under floor heating systems and will cover up to 5sq m at 3mm thickness.
Screedmaster Speed 30 is part of Bostik’s family of professional flooring products. Its fast track properties are said to be particularly advantageous in the winter months, when the more traditional smoothing compounds can take longer to dry.
